Thousand Oaks

Second-Story Additions contractor in Thousand Oaks

A second story rarely arrives on its own. The floor below changes with it, because the stair has to come out of a room that already has a purpose, and services running upward pass through ceilings and walls finished for a different plan. So the work is written as one job: structural planning and reinforcement, framing, the new roof and the exterior tie-ins, the stair and the layout on both levels, then the interior work the addition sets off downstairs. Rough plumbing and electrical are extended before finishes. Across 91360, 91361 and 91362 that full list belongs in one document instead of being discovered in pieces.

When more than one piece of work is on the table, it belongs in a single written scope so nothing falls between two documents. Adding a floor sets off work below it, and that downstairs work is priced in the same place rather than raised afterwards as a surprise. The scope comes out of an Onsite Visit + Free Estimate, including detailed scope of work and remodeling consultation, booked by call or text on (310) 220-0903, and neither the visit nor the estimate is billed. The permit side is the builder's job, from plan review to inspection. Financing is available. A warranty of 5 years covers completed work. CSLB #1072368 is the licence, and the contractor is licensed and insured and in business since 2020.

I recently hired My Cali Builders for a backyard remodel and couldn't be happier. Danny and his team were professional, punctual, and easy to communicate with. They really paid attention to the details and brought my vision to life. The quality of the work exceeded my expectations from start to finish. Everything was done cleanly and on schedule, which I really appreciated. Danny made the whole process smooth and stress-free. The backyard now looks amazing and feels like a completely new space. I would definitely recommend them to anyone looking for reliable contractors.

I began my Yelp search for a company to perform structural repairs and ultimately chose 5 companies, scheduling each of them for a representative to visit and discuss my needs. I chose My Cali Builders based upon Danny's (owner) review of the work and how he defined the scope of the work. The other representatives vacillated on the scope of the work and attached various caveats. My Cali Builders also gave me the best bid. So I hired them and boy, am I glad I did. Work was performed quickly, efficiently and the finish work was excellent. Every task I initially discussed with Danny was completed. Danny's crew including Francisco and Jaime, were top notch and pleasant. Each day, refuse and trash were removed. Every day, Danny either visited or texted to advise on progress and to insure the work was progressing as discussed and to ask if I was satisfied and happy. I can't convey in words how much I appreciated My Cali Builders. Look no further, they are the best I've ever encountered.

FAQs

Second-Story Additions in Thousand Oaks - common questions

Answers to the most common questions about this service in your area.

Yes. We have completed multiple Second-Story Additions projects in Thousand Oaks. Call (310) 220-0903 to schedule a free onsite visit, or compare public feedback on the customer reviews page.

Second-story additions are larger scopes that typically run 3 to 6 months. We cover framing, roofing, and interior tie-ins under one team. We give you a written schedule during the estimate so milestone dates are clear before field work starts.

Second-story additions require structural permits and we coordinate the plan review and inspection sequence throughout the project. You can also step back to the main Thousand Oaks page to compare related local services.

A second story is priced off the house it goes on, so no figure for it, or for any other service here, is posted on this site ahead of time. The reinforcement the existing structure needs, the footprint added above, the roof work, the stair, the services extended upward and how far the changes reach into the ground floor all move it. Booking the free onsite visit is what turns those variables into a number, and it is set down in the written scope of work.

Yes. CA Contractor License #1072368. Fully insured for liability and workers compensation. The public record is on the CSLB lookup.

Completed work carries a warranty of 5 years. That single term applies across the job rather than varying by trade, and it sits behind a contractor licensed and insured under CSLB #1072368 that has been in business since 2020. The written scope of work you agreed to is what defines the work the warranty stands behind.
The upper floor is served from what the house already has. Supply and waste plumbing is carried up, with new bathrooms placed over existing runs where the layout allows; electrical circuits come off the existing panel, and the panel is assessed for the added load; heating and cooling for the new rooms is planned with the layout rather than added afterwards. That rough work is done before the walls are closed.
