Second-Story Additions in Bel Air

Vertical home expansion for homeowners who need more space without leaving the neighborhood. Serving Bel Air and the San Fernando Valley.

Bel Air

Second-Story Additions contractor in Bel Air

On a lot where the driveway is the only way in, a second story is as much a logistics job as a building one. Where a lift stands, where materials are set down, where the debris container goes and how the roof comes off without the house below standing open longer than it has to are all settled on paper before day one. The structural drawings then decide how the new floor loads down into the existing walls and footings. Framing, roofing and exterior tie-ins follow, then the stair, then the rooms above. Protecting the finishes that are staying put runs through every one of those stages.

CSLB #1072368 is the licence this work is built under, and insurance sits behind it. Booking starts with a text or a call to (310) 220-0903. The first appointment is an onsite visit ending in a free estimate: a scope of work set down in detail, plus a remodeling consultation about what the upper floor is meant to do. Permit paperwork, from submittal to final sign-off, is carried for you. Where a build is easier to take on with it, financing is available. What gets built is covered by a warranty of 5 years.

Bel Air area

Building upward keeps the house below in use while framing happens overhead, so covering what stays and sealing the route between floors comes before the first ceiling opens. Sunset Boulevard runs near Bel Air, and the ground under a hillside home gets checked early, because everything added above rests on it.

Neighborhoods served: East Gate Bel Air, Stone Canyon, Lower Bel Air.

Near: Sepulveda Pass, Sunset Boulevard, Stone Canyon Reservoir.

I recently hired My Cali Builders for a backyard remodel and couldn't be happier. Danny and his team were professional, punctual, and easy to communicate with. They really paid attention to the details and brought my vision to life. The quality of the work exceeded my expectations from start to finish. Everything was done cleanly and on schedule, which I really appreciated. Danny made the whole process smooth and stress-free. The backyard now looks amazing and feels like a completely new space. I would definitely recommend them to anyone looking for reliable contractors.

I began my Yelp search for a company to perform structural repairs and ultimately chose 5 companies, scheduling each of them for a representative to visit and discuss my needs. I chose My Cali Builders based upon Danny's (owner) review of the work and how he defined the scope of the work. The other representatives vacillated on the scope of the work and attached various caveats. My Cali Builders also gave me the best bid. So I hired them and boy, am I glad I did. Work was performed quickly, efficiently and the finish work was excellent. Every task I initially discussed with Danny was completed. Danny's crew including Francisco and Jaime, were top notch and pleasant. Each day, refuse and trash were removed. Every day, Danny either visited or texted to advise on progress and to insure the work was progressing as discussed and to ask if I was satisfied and happy. I can't convey in words how much I appreciated My Cali Builders. Look no further, they are the best I've ever encountered.

FAQs

Second-Story Additions in Bel Air - common questions

Answers to the most common questions about this service in your area.

Yes. We have completed multiple Second-Story Additions projects in Bel Air. Call (310) 220-0903 to schedule a free onsite visit, or compare public feedback on the customer reviews page.

Second-story additions are larger scopes that typically run 3 to 6 months. We cover framing, roofing, and interior tie-ins under one team. We give you a written schedule during the estimate so milestone dates are clear before field work starts.

Yes. Permit handling is part of the scope, carried from plan review right through to inspection, and it is written into the estimate along with everything else. None of the paperwork lands on the household. Once the drawings are ready they go in, and the build is arranged around where the job stands in that process rather than around a promise made before it started.
Pricing a second story from a ZIP code alone is not possible, and no number is published here. What decides it is the house: how the existing structure carries load, how big the new level is, where the stair lands, and the finish level you choose. All of that is written into the free estimate after the onsite visit, and the estimate is what carries the figure.

Yes. CA Contractor License #1072368. Licensed and insured. The public record is on the CSLB lookup.

Several things move it. The condition and layout of what is already standing, the floor area being added, where the stair can come down without wrecking the rooms below, whether the roof is coming off in full or in part, and how far the exterior has to be reworked so the two levels match. Access to the property counts as well. Each of those is priced from what the onsite visit finds.
